ubergeeknz: How about http://www.pbtech.co.nz/index.php?z=p&p=MODAS0660&name=ASUS-DSL-N66U-ADSL2+-VDSL2+-Fiber-Ready-Wireless-N

worth noting, or fiber services which require VLAN tagging, this model doesnt work in its current firmware.

just something to be aware of if your planning on purchacing an decent model for futureproofing.

i also put my vote in for the Fritz, awesome devices they are, there is a bit of hit and miss with their recent firmwares but the hardware itself is solid.

Hi
I am quite happy with my Fritzbox but there are some limitation. For example you can not configure Openvpn (they have a built in vpn but it is an in house solution) . It seems that there are some other firmwares but most of them are in German (http://freetz.org/).
You could look at the Linksys WRT1900AC if you can find it. It seems to be a great device.
Good luck.

Thanks Guys, the router doesn't need to have Wifi so not worried about that. The Cisco model suggested went end of life a while ago and isn't available anymore. The Asus unit looks good and just checking out the Draytek
