Oblivian:jacksonteoh91:andrewNZ:jacksonteoh91: Oh I see... so it connects like a LAN?
I can't find the LAN option in my "Change Adapter Settings" though.
Yes powerline just creates a LAN connection over your power cables, and gives you an ethernet port at each adapter. Treat it like an ethernet cable.
Thanks! Now this is another problem I found. There isn't an option for me to change to Ethernet cable on the "Change Adaptor Settings" window. :S
Stop looking. You won't find one.
They are different entities. 1 Wired Device, 1 Wireless chipset. Work independently and generally 'always-on'.
They can however conflict if you are on wireless, while cable used at the same time. Hence the suggestions to turn wifi off. Your network port is always-live, awaiting a cable with active remote end to be connected. If on a laptop there will be hot key/button to disable wireless. Toggle this, and plug in cable. Ta-da. Lights.

trig42: Does your computer have a LAN port? If so, there will already be a Netowrk icon in your network connections (and when the cable is disconnected it will say Network Cable Unplugged or similar). Just plug it in and away you go.
jacksonteoh91: I used to be able to do that. I used to be able to just change my network adaptor from wireless to LAN but now, the option is gone. I don't know what is going on.If you were it's a new trick to me.

This is what I am getting. I plugged everything in. One to my router and one to my laptop and turned off WiFi by pressing the antennae button looking thing and this is what I get - Nothing! Also there isn't an ethernet cable option. It is seriously frustrating!

Do you have a LAN port? Like a phone socket, but bigger.
If you do, can you get into Device Manager on your Computer and check that there are no Disabled devices in there?
If it doesn't show in there, it may be disables in your System BIOS, in which case you (or someone that knows their stuff) needs to get into BIOS and check it is enabled in there.
If it is enabled everywhere, then you have more problems, or it is not going.
trig42: Glad you got it going, has it solved your dropouts?
