Another update: This morning I reconnected my old Netgear DGND3700v2 router/modem and set it to PPPoE, via the Draytek Vigor 120. It works perfectly - I can browse any website. So I'll go back to Linksys again and see if they can shed any light on why their WRT1900AC is incapable of working in PPPoE mode via the Draytek...
Just got off the 3rd Live Chat session with Linksys. Put simply, using the WRT1900AC via a Draytek Vigor 120 converting PPPoE to PPPoA is not supported, so hard luck. The fact that it works just fine for countless other routers the exact same way is not relevant apparently. It may or may not work, so if it works, great, if it doesn't that's just how it is. This is frustrating but I don't think there's anything more I can do except move on and try a different router
I have set up a DMZ between my router and my modem and everything is working as it should be. This is not the most ideal set up, but it will do for now.
Can someone please let me know if there are any security risks with doing this? The linksys has its firewall turned on and only has a few ports open to my web server.

Good luck with this - I have given up and just replaced the WRT1900AC with a Netgear Nighthawk R7000.
