Not sure if a splitter would fit in that box. Its from the post office era which is before my time.

Yes very easy, the jacks bay be faulty so a good thing to do. However it sounds like most of them work for phones, so maybe just leave them and get a master filter installed either outside or in the wall behind the master jack, then you will get a nice new RJ45 outlet for the modem wired directly from the incoming line.




Time to find a new industry!
