claybv: well,My brand and model are in earlier post.

I found out My ISP is using the DSL modem with 'bridging' option. I modified the internal LAN settings.even the dhcp setting in modem.will connect to modem and FC8 server .But,when I do this I lose outside WAN and internet. tried several steps. I'm sure I just need to find proper combination.

Your ISP only needs to define the type of network and authenticaiton required, but its your choice whether to use bridging or NAT routing. I presume you need to share the connection on a LAN and have some firewall function to protect your server, so choose NAT router and setup whatever listening ports to be forwarded. Normally port 80 if you didnt use SSL, and port 21 for FTP. Every port you forward creates a security risk, so lock down your server.

Time to find a new industry!
