I have a Netgear R7000 and always hit 200Mbps even over wifi (my fibre connection speed) so I think you've still got something configured wrong.

All ports on the R7000 + R8000 are gigabit.

I think everything points to that being the case, but you cant configure the RJ45 ports so I really have no idea. Im gonna take it back to PB Tech and see what their tests get out of it.

I would still recommend investigating the Ethernet cables. I had the R7000 and could hit 200mbit easy. Yours could have a magical dodgy pair which to be honest is quite common and could actually be "working" now but still dodgy.

I've got a collection of around 40 Cat6 ethernet cables and know at-least 6 of them have some broken pairs which only means they negotiate at 100mbit. Problem is I never throw them out (I really should) and keep striking them thinking it is my device being stupid.

I like that idea I will swap out with a brand new green cat6e I have here and see how it goes thanks.
