Yes. It'll just require you to change the user/pass via the web interface.

And it worked. Completely pain free.

Almost too easy!

I was surprised that I didn't have to enter username or password (for my Flip account).

I plugged the modem in, went into the setup for the modem (branded with Spark logo) and clicked 'Connect to the Internet'.

That was it. All up and running and Netflix is working well!

Reading through this forum post am I right that the original question of getting a Thomson TG585 v8 working cleanly with a Chromecast was abandoned for "buy a new one" instead?

If anyone has other leads on this specific issue, let me know. I have the same situation be tech support for a mother :)

Id recommend buying an Apple TV 3 if its for a non IT person. Netflix is on it, has remote. They should be quite cheap now that the 4 is out. Seems a more user friendly way to go
