Hey JustDecaf, I'm pleased to hear the re-registration of your handsets solved your interference. They must have needed switching to a new channel. It's good to have your practical experience that it can be used to solve the problem.
I'm so impressed with the new Unidens that I've now bought the base model (WDECT2300) for my work and it's range is proving VERY impressive! Transmitting the signal through concrete walls, around numerous computers and heavy machinary from one end of a FAIRLY large industrial building to the other, the little Uniden shines! Far surpases the LG 900mhz, Panasonic and Uniden 900mhz that I tried. And the staff at work love using it too!!
I can confirm that I am able to fully operate my 802.11g Wi-Fi network at the same time as the 2.4Ghz WDECT phones without any interference what so ever
With the Uniden WDECT 2355 + 2 cordless when you put it onto Do Not Disturb is it dead quiet when the answering machine kicks in & a message is left ?
Currently with the Audioline/Doro poor exuse for a phone that I have, it is still rather loud even when the volume is set to zero. This is not a good feature for a shiftworker that likes his sleep.
Also does the Uniden WDECT 2355 have a VIP Caller feature? That is when an important friend or family member tries to ring, the mute function is bypassed & the phone rings with a different tone just for that caller(s).
Yes, I use the Do Not Disturb feature when I'm having a nap during the day. It mutes all handsets and the base ringer. An excellent feature.
The Uniden allows you to set different ringtones for each caller ( a choice of 32 different tones I think...) but no ringtone will overide the Do Not Disturb feature.
I have decided to give one a try I ordered it from www.prestigecom.net.au in W.A. & they look very efficient. They have already AirFreighted it for FREE so it should be here Monday.
Prestige Communications have great prices. Theyu've currently got the 2355 + 2 for $269 which is $10 less than the sale price I paid and $30 less than Tandy/Dick Smith's current price! They've also got the 2305 for $80, which is $9 less than I paid, and both these products have free Australia delivery. Impressive!
I am seriously thinking of buying a Uniden WDECT 2315 with extra handset. I am also setting up a wireless n/w so many thanks for all info in the this forum. I have just registered for an ADSL connection, and am wondering, those of you who have purchased one of the Uniden 2300 range, does it require a splitter or filter for the ADSL line?
I have a netgear 802.11b wifi router, it sits three inches away from my Uniden 2315+1 base station (which is all on top of my microwave.) I have ADSL and I use microfilters. I have experienced zero problems with any of the gear.
I have no issues with range on the WDect, I love the handsets, nice ring tones for a cordless.

Mate, you live dangerously!! But it's an excellent test that proves how well the WDECT works! And yes, their range is great and when the phone rings my guests look around to see what it is...most people have never heard a polyphonic cordless!
I am looking at buying one of these uniden 2355 cordless phones and was hoping someone could confirm for me that they remember everything after a power failure. Particularly the outgoing message for the answering machine as well as any stored incoming messages, address book and phone settings.
