I've got a V1 WR1043ND that was prone to seizing up but after putting Gargoyle on it it has performed very well. Might be worth a try, as nothing to lose.

I already had a look at the Ubiquiti Networks, which is nr 1 at PriceSpy: http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=3393879
$200 is still a lot of money for just an access point though, but I think the best option going forward.
+1
I use a single UniFi AP AC LR at home (in a centrally-located cupboard) with excellent results.
I think that the price is reasonable for the performance.
What is your max download speed / speed between clients?
What's the difference with the Pro? I can't seem to find the AC LR on their website?
Thanks.
The original UAP Pro is dual band (but only 5GHz N) vs 2.4GHz only on the original UAP.
The UAP AC Lite/LR are similar spec but with better power and sensitivity levels on the LR. The UAP AC Pro only differs from the UAP AC LR by having 3x3 5GHz vs 2x2 on the Lite/LR.
There is very little need to buy an AC Pro over an AC LR for the average person unless you need 802.3af support and 3x3 rather than 2x2.

Thanks, I got a V1 as well. Just installed Gargoyle, let's see how it goes :)
Worth a try, boland. Right price! More capable as well.
But it stopped the resets I was having to do once a week or so. No idea what was causing the resets as it got worse over time. This would normally signal a hardware/overheating problem but it wasn't getting hot at all and leaving the top off did nothing.
Anyway, I am happy with the current setup.
