Yes, and Norton AV recognises it by showing a message when the computer starts.

Thanks for the Glasswire and Networkx suggestions. Installed both on different PCs and I think Glasswire will do nicely.

Try using O&O Shut up 10 to turn off all the telemetry garbage and check that onedrive isn't constantly trying to upload stuff

Crashplan not respecting network selection. Crashplan service no longer appearing in services list on Windows 10 so only option is really uninstall it until they are back.

Thanks for the update. Will need to take that into consideration myself. Probably what caused the same issue for me when we were away in January.

Parents-in-law back at home, connected via fibre. Reinstalled Crashplan but this time for all users (it installs as a service for one user it's a startup program) so that I can stop the service if needed.

 

Looking at the backup and at the files... They had about 10 GB of photos copied to the laptops in the last two weeks. No wonder this was going through the 3 GB mobile data packs like crazy...
