OK, so still nothing. Tried all suggestions. Firestick doesn't affect anything until it's plugged into the TV. TV is not connected to the router either by cable or WiFi, so it seems that the problems only occur when there is data flowing from the FS to the TV. Strangerer and strangerer...

You say you tried something but never provide experimental results. What did the wifi analyser show, i.e., what exactly happened to the access point transmissions??

And can you see transmissions from the Firestick's own AP?? - if so how wide is the channel???

Hi, thanks for keeping on this. The WiFi analysis showed that there were no overlapping signals, and the Firestick did not seem to be acting as an AP, at least if it is, it’s not showing up on the analyser.

I am confused as to why the FS would be cutting out the WiFi only when it’s plugged in to the TV. If it’s powered up and not plugged into the TV it doesn’t affect anything

Mike

And can the wifi analyser still see the wifi access point with the Firestick plugged into TV????

As soon as the FS is plugged into the TV the WiFi drops out and the analyser can’t see anything

Have you tried measuring firestick bluetooth signal strength with Bluetooth Signal Meter app? Wonder how many dBm it gives. Also how far is the router away from TV/firestick?

We don't have an analyser capable of looking for the BT signal. If you know of one that is free (or inexpensive) that would be great. The router is about a metre or two away from the TV, but it's the fact that the WiFi drops as soon as the FS is plugged into the TV that's getting me. If the FS is powered on and not plugged in, everything is fine
