it's perfectly fine when you don't use the smart features or try to reboot the router ;p

What does the Gen 2 model look like? I only got mine 10 months ago and looks like the ones in noel leeming for example.

I should have asked about the router, I just got one that looked a bit fancy lol

Hey just another quick question, Im still a little unclear on changing the WIFI GHz, if i turn a device off and on again, I just see my home network name, not a choice of GHz to pick from?

Hi, the Gen2 only came out about 1month ago, it can be purchased from High St stores and you dont need to be a Voda customer to use it. Its physically slightly smaller than the Gen1, has the same internals except it also has WiFi and Bluetooth ability.

What device are you trying to connect to 5GHz, if its a musicast device it may not have that ability.

As for you Musicast speakers are they connected via WiFi or wired, ideally use the latter.

Ah ok good to know, does the Gen2 have the updated firmware? I.e. is there any advantage in getting this now or should I wait for the Gen1 firmware update? I dont use WIFI from the Vodafone box, its all HDMI and Cat6 cables to the TV's.

Yes musiccast speakers. They are all WIFI, cant really rip the house apart for cables now. I should have. How can I try change the WIFI for these? In the router software?

You said the VodaTV drops out, but do the Musicast speakers, and if so are they far from the Router/WiFi.

Not all the speakers drop out, just some, they vary from 2m away to 15m away.

So am I to assume the further ones drop not the 2m ones, just trying to see if its just as basic as signal strength rather than anything else.

If it does transpire that its the more remote units, then purhaps another cabled WAP closer to them is required.

Thank you, I have just remaned the SSID for the different bands. Will reconnect my devices to the 5GHz and see how we go!
