Thanks Rick

The ONT has just now been installed in a (small) cabinet in the garage. Please see image below.

Question: The ONT's power is plugged in very close to where the network cable plugs into the ONT - is this an issue from an interference standpoint?

Cheers

I wouldn't worry about it. You're not supposed to run Ethernet and power cables together (in parallel) for extended distances, however they can cross as far as I'm aware. I think you'll be fine. 😊

Thanks Clemens 😊 I went to great pains to run the Cat6 separate to power in the ceiling/walls, so I didn't want to risk ruining it all at the last hurdle!

Cheers

Looks good. Did you install ONT in a separate small cabinet and the CAT6 patch panel system in a separate cabinet?

Do whatever you want to do man.

Thanks billgates. Indeed I did. However, there's currently just a mass of Cat6 cables coming out of the wall in the linen cupboard awaiting termination in a patch panel inside a shiny new 12RU cabinet.

I will endeavour to set up the Unifi network tomorrow night and then worry about terminating/tidying up at a later date.

Cheers
