Just regarding the keystone jacks, do these have a universal fitting - I want to be sure that I will be able to fit them into the faceplates I have already.  Also, does the keystone jack at the faceplate require grounding or is this done at the patch panel?

Finally (in case the keystones don’t fit), could I used the cable as Cat6 and just wire it with a standard RJ45?

Thanks

Hi, keystones as in the physical form of a keystone and the way it fits to panel/faceplate holes is pretty universal, but some wont fit some faceplates, what faceplates were you intending to use.

As for sheilding with S/FTP cables, ideally its only earthed at the patch panel to avoid earth loops, at the faceplate if you are using shielded connectors then you should connect the drain wire to the sheilding of the connector, however to stop earth loops I recommend you dont use S/FTP fly leads, use standard UTP cat6 or cat6a fly leads that have no shield and will create an earth break.

By doing so your S/FTP installed cable will be shielded and earthed at the patch panel, the 1-3m fly lead will not be shielded, but that should not cause an issue, but by having no shield or drain wire will prevent earth loops.
