Thanks for your PM on what your paying, that deal will be absolutely impossible to replace so if 300gb is sufficient stay on it as long as you can!

Tatou:
It will be a big loss in functionality when the T box goes ( recording and permanent storage) but when it does - it does.
There are options for doing recording and storage of TV other than proprietary boxes that do not allow you do copy the files. I use MythTV (dedicated Linux box) to record from Freeview DVB-T and Sky. TVHeadend on Linux is another option, but less user friendly. On Windows there is MediaPortal and NextPVR. All those are freeware - there are more paid options, but most of them are not actually as good as MythTV. If you have an older PC that is sitting in the corner doing nothing because it can not run Windows 10 well enough, it may be fine for doing TV recording using MythTV. Get a tuner card or USB tuner or network tuner and try it out. If it has reasonably modern Intel or AMD video it should work fine with MythTV v31, otherwise you may decide you need to add a cheap Nvidia card also. And you will likely want to add an infrared remote at some point also - you can run all those TV softwares using just the keyboard, but it is nicer with a proper remote.
