Nate001:

I'd get a RJ45 keystone and use a $5 punch tool from jaycar - https://www.jaycar.co.nz/punch-down-tool-for-nz-wall-sockets/p/YT7134

I've used this one before when I was without a proper tool.

I'd seriously rate the chance of anybody on here successfully terminating stranded cable to a keystone jack with one of those plastic tools AND it passing a test (so it's actually going to work correctly) at probably 20%. It is simply not a good idea. With a metal punchdown tool (Jaycar sell them as well for $10) I'd increase that to 75% but would only ever do it as a temporary solution until I had the proper tools / hardware.

The fundamental issue is that stranded and solid cable are very different and the teeth engage cable in different ways, which you can see when you compare RJ45 stranded connectors to RJ45 solid connectors.

PDL/Keystone jacks don't bite into stranded cable at all
