I'd be interested to see the BOM cost difference between a wired and wireless router. I expect it's only like $5; it's simply not worth an extra SKU for a feature that can be trivially disabled.

I am using ER-X for my VF gigabit fibre with 2 x Ausus Zenwifi XT8 nodes in AP mode for wireless around the house, works well.

 

Also have a Mikrotik RB750Gr3 sitting around as a backup in case ER-X dies.

 

Haven't got much room in my comms cabinet so need a router with small footprint.
