Ok, I'm not quite sure about that. I had a look in the manual for the modem I would like to use, but I can't find any info on bridging. It is a Thomson Speedtouch ST536v6, just an ADSL modem with USB and 1 x RJ45 port.

Usually you are ok just putting the second router as the dmz on the adsl router, then upnp on the second router can handle all the port fowards ok

I have been looking into the Tomato firmware. Is this a GUI or do I need to write in codes like Linux and MS-DOS? Also, do I need Linux to put this on the router? I have found info on the "Teddy Bear Mod" which would add NAS and USB printer server. How would I add this in without bricking the router? I'm just paranoid I'm going to do something wrong and have an expensive paperweight.

Tomato is a GUI, no need for code input. Teddy bear mod is the business, I use it on both mine and my dad's WL-520GU to add usb disk functionality. Very easy to flash directly from Asus standard firmware directly to Tomato firmware using the Asus EZflash software as written in the Tomato FAQ

Ok, so I had a look on the linksys forums.

Do I download one of those files? Is this Tomato AND teddybear mod together in one package?

Hi Sam. Easy. Buy a Zenbu.net.nz router for $249 plug it in, print whatever access vouchers you want, give them to your flat mates. Problem solved. No need to have a computer running. No ongoing charges, no cost for voucher printing. You have full control. You can make selected users "friends" so they can have free access with no limit. You can make it free to use for anyone for as long as you like. You can delete vouchers you want to discontinue. People can only use as much as you want them to use unless they buy credit on-line which will cost them 10c a megabyte and you get 5c for each MB they use at your place.

I have a LAN with 1 PC on it, and a WiFi network with 2 laptops and a few other devices on it.

Is it possible that I can regulate how much data each PC/device uses? I ask this as I am in a flat and I have a feeling that our data cap is going to go through the roof this month. It's over half gone only 5 days into the billing period.

Is there a way to manage data and allocate it from the router managment page, ... I would prefer not to run a PC 24/7, but I will if I have to.

What's more, users can register their devices on the Zenbu website so they don't have to login because the system recognizes their device = just turn on their device and away they go. No connection hassles.

Go straight to the tomato and teddybear mod all in one shot from the standard firmware using the restore utility from your PC. THat firmware is completely compatible with your router.

I think he also links the teddybear mod page, grab the latest firmware which is linked from the first post on the forum thread
