It was the same. I can go check if DHCP is enabled. I will check now, I think it isn't because I use to host but I will check and then enable it and restart both machines.
I see, I can assign a IP address for a MAC address, so like 10.1.1.3 for 00:1f:d0:20:36:1a. Wait, how can I found out my MAC address for my laptop? I only have my PC one because it was already added.
Dont assign any fixed addresses for anything, just put them all on automatic and let the router assign the addresses via DHCP, you will need to ensure that the DHCP server in the router is enabled, which I assume it is if the ipods got online.
So the ipconfig of both the laptop and PC are still 10.1.1.3? if so then you must get them to renegotiate a new address so they are different, end of story, while two devices have the same address they will have limited connectivity.
Ok, thanks I should be able to get it working now. :D. I just looked at the router and there were about 4 or 5 different IP's in DHCP that were connected.
