I lost the attachment that stands the router vertically so it could have been a heat issue. As far as skimping on the money. I highly doubt I got what I paid for.

I called Cisco and asked them to tell me what the difference was between the E1000 and the Valet models and they simply replied nothing.

They pulled up the specs and told me they are exactly the same internally and that the only difference was that the "valet" model came with usb setup software instead of a cd. I guess it saves all of your router preferences for future setups.

For an extra $40 I think I'll have to PASS!

thanks for the feedback.

I don't know why you ran crying to this forum then if you just answered all your questions and refuted any help.

Don't know why I/we all bothered.

I don't think you need to be so in the offensive. Lots of valid things were talked about so far: large number of connections, heat, power supply.

Well, I am offended - but have learnt my lesson not to bother in future.

IO had a similar problem here with ISP Orcon. It turned out to be a faulty port on the DSLAM. Once it was change worked fine.

Hi there, I have a D-Link 604T wireless router which I connect my laptop to wirelessly. I also have on occasion a desktop PC or my popcorn hour connected to it via ethernet.
I tend to find this router gets jammed up after the ethernet connected devices are shutdown/powered off.

Its almost as if I need to disconnect the ethernet plugs before I switch off the devices to keep everything happy.

Not sure what how many devices you are connecting to your router.... but does this sound like a cause?
