Ok to make it dead simple we will do the second model,

$20 Handling fee including postage for the first 4 switches then another $10 for the next 4 and so on.

then $25 per switch after that, no bonus +1 switch, buyers own risk (although as i said at worst you might have a port that POE doesnt work on)

That would mean (delivered):

  1. $45 1 switch
  2. $70 2 switches
  3. $95 3 switches
  4. $120 4 switches
  5. $155 5 switches (has the extra $10)
  6. $180 6 switches
  7. etc

If you want to group up do that first then just do one order just arrange this before you fill out the form, if its like 10 switches would need a little more postage (ill just let you know). Otherwise gg

Form to fill out: https://goo.gl/forms/3Y5s3YwcqMB8Ii7J2

For the bigger switches pm me,

and ill post the 48ports when i get them out. I might TM these as they probably go for a bit more.

Cool, ill reply to the emails the billing details, and ill do a postage shipment next monday.

Just did a postage run for everyone, will send out tracking numbers.

Just a FYI for everyone as my switches have also turned up including the SG200-08P.

You can factory reset the unit by using a pin like a SIM card ejector that comes with your smartphone to reset it. Hold for 20 seconds.

The IP Address gets set back to 192.168.1.254 if you don't plug it into a network otherwise it gets an IP address from your DHCP server.

Login with "cisco" for the username and password then set a new password.

Mine came with firmware 1.0.6.2, the latest / last version is 1.0.8.3. You can download the firmware from:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/switches/sg200-08p-8-port-gigabit-poe-smart-switch/model.html#~tab-downloads or

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/283454008/type/282463182/release/1.0.8.3?i=!pp

Then I had to use IE as Chrome didn't like doing the file upload as the UI just seems quite broken in recent IE with some of the controls. Perhaps Firefox works better but I didn't try it and IE worked for me. Equally TFTP works fine if you have a TFTP server.

Upgrading over IE took an insanely long time to upload the 3.5mb file. I had to wait for at least 3-4 mins as it said "please wait for the firmware to upload" but eventually it completed and now my firmware is sitting on 1.0.8.3

Lastly remember that only the first 4 ports on the SG200-08P are POE. Ports g5-g8 are standard gig switch ports that are non-POE.

Thank you so much @xyf for doing this for the Geekzone community. Enjoy!!

are you sure it wasn't just updating over your slow upload? :P

Yup, when you've held the reset button for long enough (10 seconds) the lights will all flash and it will reboot, at which point you can release. Default is vlan 1 as management interface and untagged on all ports. Safari was able to do everything except the table popups for adding VLANs etc. Firefox was able to do that, but not things like set the password. Also, these don't do SNMP, SSH, or telnet (the larger SG200s do).

Yeah all good. Any issues let me know via email.

I also has a boat load of aerohive wireless points (about a hundred). They generally require a paid subscription but you can manaully ssh them. I'll do another post later on. They are duel band wireless N (300mbit, 2.4 and 5ghz). They mesh too. 5 years old to. I'll put it up later anyhow ona different thread

Am I being dense - the first four ports that are POE - should work just fine if you plug a non POE device in right?
