My brother in law has a HG659 from Spark and they've probably got 25-35 devices at any point in time which is causing them issues.

actually more common than you think..

It's definitely a noted downside to the HG659 that we wouldnt be looking to make again, 5 years ago though 10 devices was absurd!

2 phones, 3 tablets, 2 laptops, a kindle and 2 Apple TVs= 10 but that’s in our Motorhome as we’re ‘on the road’ fulltime this year 😂

*edit - forgot the Battery monitor and reverse camera are wireless too!

15 clients online at the moment, 7 of them wired.

If I counted the router, switch, 2x work laptops still in bags, and powered down amazon fire tv, and ipad I would get to 20.

I thought I was in a device heavy household, but seems I am at the lighter end of the spectrum for geekzone. Amazed at the person with with 150+

I thought that 32 device limit on the HG659 had been fixed with a firmware update.

But it was the driving force behind me getting the VF Ultra Hub as I was hitting that 32 ceiling all the time.

You say this, but you have to remember things like, friends bringing devices over, devices hitting both LAN and WiFi (where mac address will differ) etc..

It all stacks up far faster than you think. Quite honestly, anyone i've dealt with on here around the 32 device limit on the HG659b they all go no! no way do i have that many.

Sure enough... mac table full and booting older devices.

I did a very rough tally, assuming the average when someone gave a range.

I got 29 of you with <32 and 17 with >=32.

I assume that's the Escada fireplace. I believe there is a firmware module upgrade for it. I wrote a blog post about how terrible the security was on them. Since you could get the admin page by just opening the JavaScript on the page and finding the md5 hash on the password.
Plus as soon as you plugged it in it started phoning home to their server the room temperature every minute.

Escea DX1500. Just had a look at the website and couldn't find anything about a firmware upgrade. Could you please point me towards that blog as it looks to be interesting reading. Thanks.

5 wired, if you include the Orbi wif1 system with 2 desktops, 1 Chromecast, 1 microPC that runs a TV, and up to probably about 15 wifi usually (more when we have visitors).

20-odd Wired and a dozen or so wireless so around 32 excluding visiting friends/family and a number of older/spare devices not plugged in.

Probably not surprising that on Geekzone having 32-odd devices makes you about 'average' according to the graph above. Not sure the wife would agree with that assessment however! :-)

My router reports 16 online at the moment plus another 10 offline, for our family of four. Nothing particularly exciting - 6 phones (don't know why my 13yo daughter needs 3), 1 tablet, 5 laptops, 3 chromecasts, printer, NAS. I think the count includes two recently deceased tablets, two interfaces for some devices, plus some devices I can't identify!
