Much improved, although they went with really expensive 110 patches for the phone. Thats probably the ideal solution, and allows you to plug those phone patches into a Cat5e RJ45 splitter to share phone/data at any jackpoint as needed. Looks like a plastic comms cabinet so why not tie in the modem to there, it shouldn't block the wifi unless its just the wrong part of the house.

I would be willing to help out your sparkie if hes interested in hiring a data guy...

coffeebaron: I visited Shelly yesterday and got her all sorted. Terminated the green DSL pair directly onto a spare RJ45 port at the end of the patch panel, and labeled DSL. Can now plug ADSL router directly in easily at the patch panel, and with a patch lead can redirect it to any port in the house in future if she wants too (though cupboard is the best place for it I think).


I was going to suggest that, its the sensible way although would be good to have a test disconnect too. Must have felt good to finally have it completed reasonably well.




Time to find a new industry!

Dunno about BigHammer and coffee baron but it sure feels great to me!!!

Aint it purrrrrrdy!!!

Still havent gotten around to looking at the wiring in the downstairs bedroom (only getting 10Mbit) but will get there, not AT ALL worried about it tho! Everything working wonderfully!
