That is just to far... how do you a) have enough time to keep all of that going b) make that much of a detailed diagram of it c) and pay for all of it!

a. luck. I don't have too many failures (although I've had some crackers)
b. took a while to first document, but once complete it's easy as long as you update whenever you make a change
c. marry into money (helps with question a. also)

ps. you can see from my avatar, I have a lot of appeal in the well-to-do circles ;-)

RPG (no, not Role Playing Game nor Rocket Propelled Grenade, although some may argue the latter is not as destructive). I've not found a reliabel emmulation, so the real thing it is. The baby (only 40kgs) uses less power but is running an old O/S, while the monster (428kg) runs the most up to date O/S for that series.

No, I'm afraid of the interweb.

My job is non technical, the guff at home is for ***** & giggles. My first programming job was RPG. the last work I did with Websphere was on OS/2.

Funny you shoudl mention that, With my computers in my office Dad and I have a silent argument turning my heaters on and off in my room (powered by the central heating system)

Im winning at the moment, but he comes in before I wake up and turns them back off.

My setup :

3Com ADSL Wifi Router -> 10/100 switch ----- AMD 3200+ System (mine)
\
\
----- Compaq Laptop (wifes)

And thats it :-p

Adding in another box soon just to run backups and log data usage from the router via SNMP.

Sounds like a job for a kurobox or other hackable nas :)

Here is my insanely boring setup, Only yesterday did I rip out the extra servers and the switch.
's more of a media setup than a real network.

My main PC now runs slackware linux.

I think you need to add a voip PABX and some sip trunks.. You're missing the oppertunity to use UM on your home LAN...

Thats not ***too** bad. A newish low spec DL380 is ~3490 BTU :)
