Jase2985:would a right angle RJ45 for in it to make it lower profile? or if you mounted it almost flush and had the cable connection go up into the roof. Thats what i would like.
I’m sure it would allow the gap to be reduced somewhat, but I imagine part of the reason they’re like that is simply to provide some passive cooling: they can generate a bit of heat, I’ve found. (Why they couldn’t have thought of the aesthetics at the same time, I’m not sure!)
I also noticed one of the Grandstreams I’ve just sold had a bit of heat discolouration on the rear - they are designed to sit incredibly close to their mounting surface, which could be a disadvantage in terms of (over)heating.
