Hi guys - my sparkie is overseas and want to reconnect a solenoid. It is 12v DC to a 230v AC solenoid. Does it matter the polarity to the 12v DC?!
Thanks

If it's designed to activate from 230VAC, then connecting it to 12VDC won't work, which ever way you connect it.

Ah, I see ;-)

Generally, these are not polarised. Are there any labels on the connections to it?

Couldn't see any sign of + or - as it it is tucked away in the back of a switch board but thought would try it so got it working! It is a crucial piece of equipment - the push button water supply at the spa - for the whiskey!
Thanks fir the help.

The polarity seldom matters, but if it does (for an uncommon biased relay) then it will not damage anything, it would just not switch.
