I was thinking about buying an ocullus rift dev kit 2. I am trying to decide whether to buy online or from one of the auction sites here in New Zealand (eg. Trademe / Priceme).

I had thought about buying online for US$ 375 from ocullus but not sure about others experience. One auction site I checked here in NZ was selling for NZ $499 but this seems too expensive for a second hand item. If I decide to order online what is the costs and wait times.

likely several months waiting time to get one direct from Oculus.

Bear in mind with ordering from Oculus you will have to add on freight and GST, so it brings the price up to pretty close to $500NZD in any case

I've been watching them on TradeMe and they go for around $800 which is a bit pricey for me.

If only there was an ISP who had an excess of DK2's and wanted to give some away......

A lot of NZers were reporting they didn't have to pay customs/gst on their DK2. Not sure why but if that's the case then the price is closer to $400 which is pretty damn good.
