If you haven't done so in the last couple of days, I recommend changing your Amazon password now, in view of current stories about a possible leak of 80,000 passwords. I also recommend using Authy or Authenticator and implementing 2Fa in your account.

2FA (via authenticator or SMS) goes a long way to help here...

Datadog are out there too telling people to delete API Accounts. Apparently they got hacked. And cant guarantee that AWS API keys were taken or not.

Are you referring to Amazon store, or AWS? I take it you mean Amazon.com store.

Like Jase2985 I cannot get my UK Amazon account to send the confirmatory code to my NZ mobile number so cannot activate 2FA

I activated 2FA using Authy. It then asks for a backup and I select VOICE instead of SMS.

SMS is too unreliable in New Zealand.

Amazon is very big on security, especially in AWS. They strongly recommend 2FA for master account credentials, and recommend it for other accounts. Text didn't work at all, but Authy and call works fine.

I've just set up 2FA on an AWS account and two Amazon accounts, now have to do my wife's.
