Hi All,

I have a Paradox Spectra 1759MG home alarm. It is configured to call my cellphone first, and a landline number second when it is activated. The landline was my work DDI at my desk - but unfortunately I no longer work there after 10 years. Reading the manual, changing it seems relatively simple:

press ENTER

enter INSTALLER CODE (default 0000/00000)

enter section you wish to program (152 in my case)

enter phone number

press ENTER

However, it doesn't seem to work, and I get a long beep after entering 0000 at the installer code section , and similar beeps when I continue the sequence, beeping mid entry of the phone number. So I have used clear to cancel the process(although likely i'm not even in program mode yet?)

Is it likely the installer has changed the installer code and that's what is stopping me?

When the correct number is entered, what does a confirmation tone sound like?

I doubt the installer would have kept the default code as zeros.

Do you remember who the installer was?

Are you likley to get fibre oneday? the dialler wont work with fibre. You can get an IP150 (about $200) or GPRS/GSM comunicator unit (about 400$).

Depending on your circumstances and long term use of the house.... might be cost efficient to convert across to the IP150 or GPRS/GSM communicators.

I know who the installer co is, yes. Any chance they would tell me what the code is? Ridiculous to call them out (and I live rurally a long way away from them)for pushing a few buttons. If they wont give me the code i'll have to get them out but request the code changed to a number I want, that way I can do this myself in future.

Fibre unlikely, as we are very rural. I asked about the cellphone addon unit some time back( so I can get rid of landline) and they said it wasn't compatible with my particular alarm. I'd need to upgrade apparently to have the alarm send activation notifications by cell instead of landline.

You only know if they will tell you the code is if you call them and ask, No one here could answer that question only the company

Props to Garrison Security. They did release the code after full verification of Identity, and a stern warning about how so many people stuff it up and require a visit, or replace now inaccessible hardware !
