So Morepork have announced a new video-only monitoring plan, Morekpork Video, and I've got a pair of indoor cameras to test out. They can be mix and matched, so you could have one indoor, one outdoor camera, two indoor or two outdoor cameras. I recall some people mentioning in the original thread that they were disappointed because there was no outdoor camera, well now it's available.

They have 720p resolution (would really prefer 1080p at least), motion detection, 2 way audio, live streaming, infrared sensor, and the ability to store videos in the cloud.

They don't have PoE support, but do have a mini USB to Ethernet adapter and the ability to connect to WiFi. I couldn't find out if they support 5Ghz (will check what my UniFi Controller says once I've connected them), but doubt they do as in order to connect them to WiFi you have to have a WPS capable router!! Or by first connecting it to Ethernet. (I thought WPS wasn't secure??)

The video camera packs start from $299.95 (2 indoor cameras) and require a $9.95 monthly subscription with you needing to sign up to at least 12 months. You can only have a maximum of 8 video cameras combined on one Morepork Video plan.

The cameras seem to be provided by Alarm.com.

I think for the average home user, this would be an easy install, but for the more geeky users, this product seems a bit average... The newly arrived Netatmo devices seem to offer better features and not have to pay a subscription to store videos in the cloud.
