Hi All,

Does anyone run the Netgear Arlo system (with wireless cameras) and how do they find it? (especially in regards of Camera Battery Life)

I've had a look via Google for feedback and Battery Performance has popped up a bit in regards they are not lasting anywhere near as long as advertised.

I note there is a 4K version which has just been released to market also.

We have the Arlo Pro 2 system with 2 cameras.
One on the front door / garage and the other on the back entry to the garage that rarely is used.

Camera life on the front door is 1-2 months with all settings on full. Back door is more in the 2-4 month range again in full settings (highest quality, motion always Active etc)
Front door gets every coming and going to the property as includes driveway

Takes 2 hours or so to fully charge - just plug in and check the app to see % complete

Have been looking at the solar charger for the front door one so never need to charge - just waiting on a good special on them

System works great for our situation and the video quality is really good.

Generally good, but I have never managed to get the geofencing to work meaning that I have to manually arm and disarm. Also reliant on a hub, so limited in how far you can place the cameras from the hub.

Battery life - about 2-3 months

I've been using 4xArlo Pro 2 for over a year now, the only real feature I like about them is that the cameras are battery powered and wifi. Tend to get 2-3 months of battery life from them.

I find the the video quality to be pretty average and the mobile app for geofencing is complete rubbish that rarely works correctly.

I upgraded a mate from these to a Dahua solution in his workshop and he is over the moon. Can finally stream his cameras in good quality, movement alarms actually work..
I'd say the Arlo is better suited to a hobbyist rather than someone with a commercial application.

Just bought Pro 2 with 3 cameras in Boxing day Sale. Worked out for us as we have A frame so no roof space to hook up wiring

The good:
- Setup in 2 mins
- Video and audio is clear same with microphone
- We bought the outdoor mounts thinking it didn't come with anything but it does. However it's just a curved ball magnet to stick on, pretty easy to get stolen as reviews have suggested
- Geofencing works well for us

Cons:
- NV has about 2m range so no point if you're overwatching a large area.
- Bombared by alerts maybe i need to tweak it more but kind of annoying just getting alerts for a windy day and powerlines moving. Also have dogs and they just set it off all the time.
