I use one bought from the US and again apart from plug issues, it works fine. The adapter is world-wide voltage. So I would imagine the UK one just has a different adapter.

lachlanw: Thank you both. Much appreciated. Just put of curiosity did you use an adaptor for power or get NZ replacements?

Because mine is a US one I just bent the pins to an angle :-)  Also since the adapter is standard 5V USB you can use pretty much any Android phone power adapter.
