Hey Guys,

Well I managed to drop my Zune again today and that seems to be the end of that. The hard drive has taken one too many knocks and will now not pick up anything on it.

Thats fine, but I was looking at purchasing a new Mp3 player at some stage (I have a nokia n95, but it isnt fantastic for speed or ease of use while driving, such as scrolling thorugh lists

) . Looks like the time may have come. What would be the best option? I have had a ipod before, but am keen to try something different. Any suggestions/links etc? I have googled, but nothing really popped out at me as a mp3 player with standout features.

Add some more requirements and we might be in business. Things like your desired capacity and intended use would be a good start.

I've never found my iPod Video to be that strong in term of audio performance compared to Creative and Sony players I've had/have. But they all served me different purposes so have their place. That's why it comes back to the capacity and intended use questions.

Before I got my N82 I used to have an N95 (and N95 8GB) - I have a car mount and find them great for use in the car. Car mounts are cheap, and also make GPS guidance safer, so to my way of thinking its a good purchase.

Depends on your usage though - I make sure to have my tags well sorted (mp3 tag and rename is free and does mass editing, very quick way to sort a lot of music quickly) and listen by genre generally (or all songs on shuffle at times, occasionally make a playlist if it seems worth the effort - for example for a road trip). With an 8GB microsdhc card (fervently awaiting the 16GB cards, already a month overdue now from Sandisk) I've found them great. For the convenience of only having one device, I'd just find a way to make the N95 suit your usage.

As Satch said though, more information on your intended use would be helpful.

Sorry, I was a bit lacking in the details.

Wanted -

30gb or higher
Usable as a portable hd
Ease of use

Preferable -

Drag and drop capability for adding mp3s

I have found the N95 to be good for most things (I have a 8gb card in it), but it seems that I am nearing the limit of its storage capabilities with only a couple of hundred mb left on it. Id prefer to have my whole collection in one place rather than parts of it and it seems until the 16gb card comes out I might get stuck out.

I've a 1GB N95 and find the Nokia music software for it to be quite "clumsy" to use and a bit of a pain. I've got an iPod Video with about 20GB of music on it and find it hard to move music between the two (once I get bored of the songs on the N95).

So I'd get an iPod if I had to choose one.

Or the N96, which will have something like 16GB onboard and 16GB SD card I think ...
