Basically what the title says. A $500 watch dead in 16 months. I don't find that acceptable.. any chance CGA can cover me? Even though it's 4 months over the manufacturers warranty? Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Assuming it hasn't died due to misuse, almost certainly.

Ok thanks. I will try my best. Definitely has not been misused, well looked after.

Fitbit can be really good to deal with directly I've been told by people who've dealt with them.

But hell no - something you wear on your wrist and costs $500 should be darn near bullet-proof and be able to withstand a gentle level of wear and tear unscathed.

I have a few Fitbit devices around here. I once complained about one not charging and they sent a replacement, no questions asked. You can either go directly to them or the retailer (which should be the first contact in most cases).

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks everyone. I took it back to Harvey Norman where I brought it. I said I feel this should be covered by the CGA because of the cost and the short amount of time before it died..

They were really good to deal with. They have taken it and will be sending it back to Fitbit. So hopefully I get some kind of result.

Cheers

Just an update for all those that helped me.. I have received a brand new Ionic. Great result. I thought I was screwed haha.

In saying that I'm done with the ionic.. it's up for sale on TradeMe for $299 no reserve if anyone's interested.

Thanks for making me feel I had a shot and getting the replacement.

Cheers
