Hey guys, keen to buy a Fossil Gen 5 (Carlyle) Watch but it doesn't seem to be sold here yet.

Not keen on getting through Amazon+Youshop. Does anyone know another option or failing that any info on when we might expect it to be available here?

JBHifi has the Gen 4 currently.

Cheers

What's your hesitation with Amazon and YouShop? I got a gen 4 Fossil Sport watch via this method and although I couldn't try it in advance, it's seemed pretty good so far (minus the occasional frozen watch that needs a restart).

How much was shipping for you?
How long did it take?

Shipping was NZ$26.50 via YouShop's economy option, at this time of year I don't find it takes very long (compared to say December/January) but their target is 9-14 days.
Heard there is GST coming in soon so may want to consider buying sooner if you're going to.

thanks for the tips.

I guess part of me wanted to be able to go to a store and give it a try too... Having it instantly is also appealing...

I see they're US$295, so make sure your cost plus shipping plus US taxes is definitely under NZ$400.

Otherwise you are up for gst and an admin fee from memory.

Above figures are just from memory so do some searches to confirm the numbers and rules for sure

I see Christies NZ are selling for NZ$579 but not in stock yet  at https://www.christies.co.nz/ftw4024-fossil-gen-5-smartwatch

Sweet. Was what the price?

The price was $579. Also found out from the headoffice buyer that fossil have different skus per region and features like Google pay are locked to the region.

Not sure I'd buy one with the pixel watch rumoured to be coming out soon.

Also I have the gen 5 Carlyle and I don't find it any faster than the gen 4 barring the microphone speaker combo.
