Do they ship to NZ ? Most o/seas suppliers I've seen so far don't ship Lipos to NZ.

I use to get mine from HobbyKing, but the price isn't as good anymore and freight is so slow.  I run GensAce batteries now which are available at most retailers of rc cars.  I can now get my batteries overnight and if any issues, can get them sorted with no real difference in price.

Any Auckland suppliers ? Im finding the GensAce stuff, seems to be out of stock everywhere for what Im looking at :( 3S 4400 or better.

2S I can live with but would like 3S ;)

Urrghh... whats with all the RC shops having shocking online stores. :D

It's been 30 years since I owned an RC - I used to build yachts boats and cars. 

Out of curiosity, how long does a decent battery last in an RC machine these days?  Have LiPo batteries rendered glo-plug engines largely obsolete?

I use Hyperion 2S Shorty Hard Case as my go to. Bit hard to find at the mo.

For my 1/8th I use a 4S Gens Ace Hard Pack

2S batteries come in all shapes and sizes and specs for different applications

Glo plug gear still popular, but brushless electric with Lipo's have taken off. 

The 2S batteries I have probably run for about 15mins each or so depending how I drive it. 

Looking at 2S 5000mAh to get maximum run time, and potentially a 3S 4000mAh for ***** and giggles ;)

I havent had a decent RC for years (Tamiya hornet back in the day), and thought that was fast..... then got my Arrma Granite (2nd hand) earlier this year, set it up on the deck, and almost killed the thing by running it into the railings - was not expecting the speed that it has :D

Scary thing is, its on the lower end of the Arrma gear, theres cars out there doing 120mph+.

Have used Hobbyking for several battery orders for my RC Trucks and quadcopters. If you get a few batteries the shipping per battery isn't as bad. e.g.

Shipping times are long for both as I believe they generally come by sea-freight. So I place the order - "forget" about it for 4+ weeks - and then a "present" turns up.

I have found this delay acceptable in the past compared with NZ based pricing - but not sure post COVID whether shipping delays will be even longer - so YMMV.

PS: I have had good service from HobbyStation for various items / repairs etc - so if you prefer local they might be worth looking at.
