Hi all
I’m been trying to get Alexa to play RNZ National on my echo dot, Specifically from iheartradio, but Alexa keeps telling me she can’t find that channel. I know it’s on there because I can use it in a web-browser. She just wants to play it from Tunein.

Does anyone have any suggestions how to possibly fix this?

Cheers

Are there issues listening via TuneIn?

Yeah, it lags by a minute or more. Hoping iheartradio is better on the dot.

iHeartRadio on all of my Alexa/echo devices has trouble locating any NZ stations. Even though I can find them in the app on my phone and the browser. And yes confirming the region settings are correct.

My son's Echo show 5 has serious issues finding any NZ stations.

Thankfully he enjoys the US and UK rock-specific stations, so it's not really an issue, but it would be a problem for me.

Kind of glad to know it's not just us. Most of the time my family would just like ZM or similar, but it seems to only ever pull though US stations.

I had this problem and it was caused by my Amazon account being linked to the US store instead of AU. As soon as I moved it to AU it could find NZ iheartradio stations. Once you do it you need to sign out of Alexa app and back in and then kiss goodbye to half the features.

You can confirm you’re on the AU store as the Alexa app in Settings / Alexa Preferences has no option to set a default podcast service. If you see an option to set Default Podcasts you’re on the US store.

Fix for this problem is here: Alexa Tips & Tricks (iheartradio.net.nz)

In short you need to link your Amazon account to the Australian Store instead of the USA one
