I'm putting some electronics in a very humid environment so I want to coat them in a potting compound like an epoxy or a silicone. Just wondering if any of you have a particular substance that you like to use for this purpose?

Probbaly just about anything will work but I'll draw from your experience if you have it. :)

Anything that's acid-cure will corrode metals and is to be avoided. This includes a lot of silicones.

'Potting' normally implies significant depth, meaning you want a two-part compound rather than something that relies on air to cure. Conformal coatings are a bit different but application and avoiding voids is harder.

If you want to do it properly (and I recommend you do for many reasons - potting can cause as many issues as it solves if you use incorrect stuff) then get something from here:

Resins (synergyelectronics.co.nz)

Electrolube does a line of specialty resins and urethanes, but the ER2188 or ER1488 that are in stock are probably fine.

Why won't a conformal coating work? That and/or a suitable enclosure with some desiccant if you have some money to spend on that sort of thing.
