Well I have my US account set up to buy ebooks and now need to buy my Kindle using my NZ account...thru the Forum link.

I was going to add the "Australian" wall adapter but I see it is just an adapter that takes the included USB cable. I've already got a couple of those that came with my HCT Desire but I need to know if they are the correct rating.

Can anyone tell me what the rating is on the wall charger that is usable in NZ? .....DCv/mA

To be honest, it doesn't really matter.
The wall charger that you got with your Desire will be more than sufficient.
The Kindle just comes with a standard USB - microUSB cable.
Just plug it into your Kindle into your USB wall charger that you already have. It will work just fine.

If you really want to be picky, the output of any good USB wall charger will be 5V DC and usually in the vicinity of 500mA - 1000mA. As long as it's 500mA or more current output, most devices will work/charge just fine.

I use the one from my Logitech mouse and it works fine. Just try it...

Any 5V DC charger will do, most smartphones come with one. You can also just plug it into your computer via USB and it will charge no problem.

Wall charger that's rated for 1A might be slightly faster than USB via computer though which is typically 500mA max draw/current.
