SumnerBoy: Bugger! Just had confirmation the unit being shipped from the UK will be the 512MB version. Guess I have two of these little beauties now. Looks like Trademe will be getting some more fees off me...

Use one for a media centre  with xbmc (we loaded it up here at work and it looks pretty good!) and the other one to play with. :-)

I ordered one from Element14 yesterday as well so i am hoping to see mine today when i get home from work. i assume everyone that has got them the next day are based in Auckland so i figure i might get mine tomorrow as i am at the "right end of the country" in Invercargill.

I sold one of my Model B boards.

They seem to be fussy about the sdcard or power. Both of us can get both boards going with the same (single) config at work....but neither of us can get either board going at home with different power and PC screen.

At least we know they both work....

The red LED comes on and the green LED flashes once when it attempts to talk to the SDCard...and that's it.

But at work they both boot up and load with no issues.

"Further investigation required".

I'm using an HTC Sensation phone charger for power. It's rated at 5v and 1amp...which should be more than enough for the 5V /  (max) 700ma the R-PI requires.

I've had some trouble with mine as well. I forgot to pick it up off my desk last night at work so didn't have it at home to play with. I did however copy the PIAF PBX I wanted to try to the SD card and tried it earlier today at work.

When it boots up it comes with with "Trouble waiting for hardware interrupt cmd13". A few posts seem to suggest this is a card issue, but I have also noticed the LG power supply I had at work is only 4.8V 1A rather than 5V.

I tried the LG 4.8v power supply first...then read the FAQ and changed to the HTC power supply. Faith-based assumption about 5V.

I'll try some of the other 5V chargers I have....and different cables, too. One never knows how many of the pins are connected.

I ordered mine late Tuesday night and got mine Thursday, I'm using a iPad power supply for mine and its working a treat. Now I just need to pickup a Bluetooth keyboard, and another HDMI cable.

I am using a kindle micro USB cable and plugged it into my Samsung 2011 model plasma's USB port. Everytime, TV turns ON, it boots up the Rasberry Pi as well without any issues. Also my TV remote works fine controlling XBMC menus via HDMI-CEC. noticed that HD files sometimes take few seconds before they show up on the TV. I suspect this is a SMB issue so will switch NAS to NFS for better performance.

Did I read correctly that some people have spare units? Especially of the 512mb variety?
I would be more than happy to take one off your hands instead of going through the "hassle" of
putting it on trademe!

If you are in CHCH I will pick up otherwise will pay for courier if the price is reasonable.

I have been spending too much on gadgets lately so don't want to order one myself but if
I am doing someone a favour by buying their excess then I somehow see that as being all right.

reven: i can recommend a apacer 8gb class 10 sd card.  ive got 2 of these and they work fine with my pis.

I purchased one of these but keep getting an error on boot. I actually found another 8GB Toshiba Class 4 SDHC card here at home and that works fine.

If Class 4 works fine, I might try one of those.
