I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

mattwnz: I would order a kindle for a family member, but it isn't compatible with the libraries ebooks. So have to go for a sony or kobo, neither which are as good a screens.
peejayw: I couldn't see any difference in the screens of the paper White and the Kobo Glo and reviews for the Glo were generally favorable so went with that on the basis it was immediately available, epub compatible and had a sd slot for storage.
So far I am loving it but cant figure how to connect via wifi to Calibre on the laptop if thats even possible.
gehenna: It's definitely on my wishlist too. We can't get it in NZ yet though, right? It'll need to be a YouShop jobby?
lissie: How does the Kobo Glo or Kindle paperwhite compare to the iPad - or any other backlite tablet for that matter?

Backlight for reading == fail.
Ipad for reading == fail.
Too Heavy for a good starting point. I'd take almost any e-reader over a tablet every day of the week.
