Info that comes with these switches is pretty much non existent.

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.
coffeebaron: I use mine for turning on the coffee machine :)

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
richms: Thats even better than the $65 I got my last ones for, but they are physically very large and the motion unit doesn't even have the courtesy to have a pass thru socket on it even though it uses the same excessively large case as the switch.
The wemo is basically an entire router in it. Total overkill for turning something on and off but works with the echo once firmware updated from the in box version.

OK. These WEMO's are driving me a bit crazy. Here is my config:
HG659 as Modem / Router
Second HG659 as Access point connected to Modem with DHCP turned off.
I can configure the WEMO's no problem. One of them works with no problems, the other two eventually disappear out of the WEMO Android app (it says not detected in grey).
The Amazon Echo can still activate them with no problems.
If I disable wifi and use a 3g connection on my Android phone they appear magically back in the WEMO app and work normally. They are all on the latest firmware.
Cheers, Matt.

That's what happens to me too, does the light start to flash on the wemo too?
Loads of complaints on the forums they run about the same thing happening. There is another app that controls on the lan that works fine.
I cant get over how hopeless their app's setup process is - I actually have to manually connect to the wifi network it makes myself, and then open the app again for it to configure it. Almost everything else I have similar handles all that itself in the app.
And you cant change the SSID without messing about doing a factory reset on the thing and then reconfigure it, when you have moved some to a different SSID it then starts to not work properly from the phones app when its on the lan. Makes it do the blinky light thing, but the echo is fine, as is mostly IFTTT control of it.
Just a total joke compared to the chinese wewo's or the broadlink ones or the small K's which just work from their app, but have no IFTTT or echo control.
OK Rich. I haven't manage to establish the problem is the app, firmware or the hardware. It doesn't appear that Belkin know either! Grrr.... Which app are you using? Is it the $9.99 one? (Automation manager)

Long shot, but I had similar issues when I first go mine a year or two ago (haven't done much with it since).
You don't happen to have wifi enabled on both HG659s with the same SSID by chance? I had two wifi APs (inadvertently) set up like that. All my devices bar the Wemo coped with it.
Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?
I got a Wemo switch before Christmas for the tree lights :)
It was a pain to setup (lights would indicate connected but the Wemo app would not go past the setup screen).
I changed a setting for my WiFi in the router (Netgear D7000 (cannot remember what exactly now - I think I may have just changed the 2.4GHz channel) and away it went. Been no problems since (no longer turning xmas lights on and off, but it is doing a couple of lamps an hour before sunset. I like it and will probably get a couple more.

The same guy does the other one so I assume it would work just as well
Yes, I have multiple AP's on the same SSID and key with the unifi system. Its basically essential to have more than one unless you live in a shoebox.
It just seems the basic design of how the wemos work is flawed, Hell, the app cant even share control of a single wemo with a friend to reboot a server here, have to bring his phone here, scan the network and then delete all the other ones from it.
