See if you can get the blue cover one to display , that one should be unavailable t purchase. Both that one and the one you're seeing are both kindle editions.
yeah I can see that but cant buy it.  Thats why I always check in Kindle books for the title as you will find the same book with different covers.  One will be available and the other wont.  Whether its something with copyright of the cover or something else I dont know.

Cool. Yea that blue cover I got from searching in the kindle books area. It even says [kindle edition].
So there must be 2 kindle edition: one for the US and one for worldwide. Stupid really.

And this book: Good Hunting: An American Spymaster's Story  , the kindle edition is only available in the US I think , If you search for it , there are no other kindle editions. Can you confirm this ?

You can get books from anywhere and load them onto your kindle. Amazon has a "send to kindle" tool which is super helpful. Love my paperwhite, gave one to Mum for her birthday, she likes it too.

surprisingly I have been using kindle (iPad app) for the last 2 years and thought i had a US account as i was shopping at the .com address (setup as an NZ account with an NZ c/card) but only just discovered that some (v few) books are NOT available.

long and short... if you're a mainstream reader, i say go for it as it really doesn't seem to matter for long :)

The paper white model is at Dick S for $199 at the moment. I dont think you could get it from Amazon for any better.

Kindle is 140usd, plus charger 15usd = 184nzd. Postage would have to be more than 15nzd, total then would be more than DS.

Somewhat related question: How come I often see books that are published at a certain date but at the bottom there are a bunch of reviews from readers dated months before then ? And they stated the kindle edition (since i originally thought they might've read the paperbacks and given reviews to the kindle edition.)

For example. this book here --> http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HNLCS1I/ref=s9_ri_bw_g351_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-3&pf_rd_r=03KVDHYDKXNHJ217DBB1&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1720194962&pf_rd_i=154606011

isn't even released yet but there are reviews from earlier in the month...

The reviews are reviews of the book, not the format. Amazon tends (though not always) to copy reviews across the formats so even though a Kindle version may have just been released the reviews are still relevant regardless of whether the reviewer was commenting on a e-book, paperback or hard cover version.

Not there yet :-(

Just want to add - be careful about advice suggesting you can set up a US account to buy books. When I first joined Amazon I was in the US, so had a US address & phone number. I thought I'd be fine using those to buy ebooks here - after all, it was genuinely my address at one time and Amazon had shipped physical orders there. It worked for awhile. Then Amazon suspended my account. It was hell trying to get them to give me a second chance and they really read me the riot act. I would never risk it again.
