Thanks K1wi Its working well. Got to 35 today so not to much electricity needed if you want a spa. Still need to find something to make the lid seal better.

A ring of thick, soft foam around the lid that gets a little compressed when closed would be the easiest option? Would need to resist the heat and moisture though...
My experience has been that the flap of material that you usually get around the lids (and I couldn't quite make it out in the pictures, but may have been there at the start) is a pain to get tidied even when you're throwing the lid on by hand. The only way I could see that design working is by somehow increasing the air pressure under the lid as it shuts, so that the flaps get pushed/blown out side of the base.
Yeah I,m thinking soft foam around the lid so it fills all the gaps. They are only about 4mm in some spots. It seams to loose about 3 degrees a night which surprises me, thought it would be more than that. Good frost last night, also on the cover, but managed a 37 today. Had a look at the recycle shop today but nothing jumped out at me.Might have to go to Para Rubber $$$.
