There a quite a few BLUNT stockist around the country and on online,  these are very popular Brollies.

So popular that even Wellington - where an umbrella used to be an extremely rare sight,  BLUNT umbrellas are commonly see out and around the place.

My wife absolutely swears by her BLUNT metro,  However unfortunately the tile versions were only a promotional item and are going to be allot hard to find in stores soon :(

To pick up on a long-closed thread...

I'm looking at buying a Blunt umbrella for my wife, and wondered if they are an item that regularly comes down on sale? No data on products like this on price comparison sites.

Just looking at a Metro, due to its compactness, but still keen on seeing if I can get it lower than full price. Can get one for $80 from The Market, but they don't have it in red. $100 at Farmers, so perhaps it'll come down in their sales?

Flybuys is another option I guess...

Any ideas or shared experience greatly appreciated.

Barkers often have them on sale, when they do their sales.

Thanks, @mattwnz; do you recall what sort of discount they normally offer on them? Just wondering whether it's worth waiting for Barkers or other firms to put them on sale or going for one at $80 on The Market (their current $20 discount code ends tonight).

I had one of the ones with a tile, and ironically the tiles battery went flat, and the umbrella has now been misplaced, so I can't use my app to find it. The probelm was that the tiles battery was sealed into it, so it couldn't be replaced, and you have to buy a new one if. I think the newer tiles, and other similar type of devices now have removable batteries.

Oh, the irony! Yep, the battery in the new Tiles is replaceable, but in my experience lasts way shorter time. I've just checked when I bought my first lot of the current gen to find out how long - bought in Jan 19, with the first of them running out in Nov 19 and the rest have done so since then. That said, $2.24 for a new battery vs the cost of new Tile means it's still worth it.

Well, Once It has come to the party, with a few colours of the Blunt Metro down to $69 including shipping (https://www.onceit.co.nz/search/blunt%20umbrella) so I've grabbed a green one from them.

The other day my kids were given some cool looking anime-related umbrellas that their friend had bought them in Japan - first one broke that same day, the second broke today. An example of why it's worth paying for quality..

I love Blunt umbrellas - I have several (most given to me in one way or another)

Blunt Golf G2

Blunt XL

Blunt Classic

Blunt Mini

2 x Blunt Metro.

Had a Blunt + Tile, but lost it and when I tracked it I was only ever able to find where it HAD been, not where it actually was.

Was well and truly put off Tiles after that.

I'm tempted to get one of these brollies for myself, but may leave it and drop hints when it gets closer to my birthday!

While we still do use Tiles, in all honesty they're mostly useful for finding stuff around our place, as opposed to trying to find something truly lost. My kids misplace their wallets frequently in different places of the house, so the Tiles in them have been damn valuable. Now, if only we'd put them in my son's school PE uniform he's misplaced over the holidays...
