I ordered a Pi-TopCEED on day 1 via Indiegogo months ago which will ship sometime next month.

I received an email from them a few days ago saying that all backers' orders have been upgraded to the new Pi 3.

Not sure what I will do with it when it arrives - keen to try some stuff with it but a total novice.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Anyone heard of the "HardKernel ODroid C2"? Article here. Compared with the R.Pi 3 it has a faster CPU, better graphics, Gigabit ethernet, but no built in wireless. It sounds good for a media center - Kodi is due May 2016.

There are lots of options apart from the R.Pi3, though the Pi is probably the most well known.

I've got the C1 which is the predecessor to the C2. Feature wise they are definitely impressive but support is not as good as the Pi. For example OprnELEC support isn't official and relies on 2 of 3 individuals to make unofficial images.

i looked at these before, lack of kodi support put me off, and lots of people saying theres plenty of issues with them. 2d window managers in linux apparently are unusable. faster cpu is nice though....

Those of you that have received them, how are things going? Mine's not due until next week, which gives a few days for the most major compatibility issues to be noticed :)

So far I've heard that the 3 is slower than the 1 when not running Raspbian; hopefully that'll be fixed quickly! I've also heard that any app using the deprecated "SWP" instruction (hundreds, if not thousands of apps) will no longer work. Naturally one of my most frequently-used apps is affected...

I ordered for home use from RS. I did see the text "for business" and figured that it was just a hint that the price was excluding GST.

Fair enough. I would say it's "loosely" business related for me anyway, as it's in my area of interest... I don't imagine too many people are buying a single unit for business use!

If I was asked to justify it then I would've mentioned needing to check my own apps for ARMv8 compatibility... even though I don't expect any issues :)

I've found element14 very fast with delivery. I've ordered 8-10 Pi over the past couple of years and they have always been delivered overnight out of Aussie (when in stock).

My Pi 3 arrived from RS today, as promised. The Pi looks OK, but the power supply is the weirdest I've ever seen since it has no way of being plugged into either a wall socket or a Pi. In fact, it looks suspiciously like a case!

I wonder whether they'll make me return it...
