In terms of the sound, are the guts the same as the QC25s?

I wouldn't trade up for the wireless alone, but if there were improvements in the sound quality, I might consider...

My ears are not the best gauges of sound quality but in my humble opinion they were streets ahead of the qc15's I had. The other benefit I see is that they are rechargeable.

I see the rechargeable thing as a mixed-blessing. Good that you don't need to buy batteries - save money, better for the environment, can be more convenient - but also a pain if you run out of juice somewhere where recharging isn't an option and a couple of spare batteries would see you through.

I have had the QC15 and now have the QC25. The QC15s were too bassy, but the QC25s are nicely balanced and probably as close to hifi quality as you will get from Bose.

So, an upgrade from QC15 to QC35 would be well worth it, but upgrading from QC25 isn't worth doing unless you really, really need the wireless capability. I certainly won't be upgrading mine for a while.

Bought a pair this week. Not sure if it's Windows or Android - but seeing it happens with both I will blame Bose but...

Every now and then the headphones will disconnect from one of the devices and when connected again it doesn't offer one service or another (audio or calls). I then have to turn the Bose off, turn Bluetooth off on the other device (Windows 10 laptop or Android phone) and turn all on again.

Yes, it's updated to the latest firmware 1.3.4.

Interesting. I have mine paired to a few devices and often two at a time and I've never had an issue.

Yes, it works with two at a time but once or twice a day it coughs up... It could be just an extremely busy office environment with a couple of hundreds WiFi-enabled and Bluetooth-enabled Microsoft Surface and other smartphones, Tile devices, etc all around.

NC works fine when plugged in with the cable. I am using mine that way right this very minute.

The Sony MDR1000X is now obsolete and replaced by the WH1000XM2. I picked up a fair of the WH1000XM2's a few weeks ago when they launched.

I bought a pair of WH1000XM2 at Labour Day sales for cheap, and I couldn't be more happy. To me they are better sounding and probably 95-99% as good for NC as the QC35's AND they have awesome Gesture controls I much prefer over the QC35's so the 35's are going to my wife and my QC25's are for sale.
