Thank you @Kiwifruta.  The stats were interesting and surprised me a little.  I had figured the brains tat would come with VC investment would raise the likelihood of astronomical success.  Perhaps they do, but the percentages are only small.

 

I've just ordered a couple of Richard Koch's books to start me off.  :)

I've read many other books, but those 3 and practical experience form the basis of my approach.

I've backed a couple that didn't get funded,

Backed Star citizen game, still not complete after 24months, in that time my gaming has gone from 4+ hours a day to less than 4 hours a month.

Backed lily, I was suckered by the promotional video, thinking I was backing a product, but I learned a couple months later that I was backing an IDEA not a prototype.
I'm much more careful now.
I've seen a couple items on Kickstarter that have been funded, that I'm waiting for them to finish there products, if it's everything that said it would be, I'll pay full retail.
