I recently purchased a few of the Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z) cams after following this thread for some time. From what I could find, they appear to be best bang for buck if you're after good low light images.  

 

 

The Dahua Starlight cameras are amazing. For USD$150 or so they're a true bargain and nothing else comes close without spending significantly more money.

Flooding the place with more IR isn't the solution is the camera is poor in the first place.
