Thanks for the info - I do have a couple of raspberry Pi devices handy but I like the neat look of the Xiaomi temp sensors. I have a Home Assistant server running pretty well, so want to use things that integrate nicely there.
I have the mi sensors in the fridge and freezers going to their gateway. I had them going to my smart things for a while with a community made device handler to do them, but were unreliable as, with the mi gateway they are fine.
